About may day
On May 1, 2026, workers, students, and families rally, march, and take action across the country to demand a nation that puts workers over billionaires, with many refusing business as usual.
Together are training and organizing, sharing our Workers Over Billionaires story, and turning solidarity into strategy. Collectively we are moving from support to leadership and building the collective power it takes. This May Day we are continuing to build the strength, power and momentum to win. Because when the billionaires break every rule, it’s going to take more than a rally to stop them.
Join as together we celebrate May 1st through action and community, and use this Week of Action as a way to build our collective capacity for future action!
what is may day?
May Day, also known as International Workers’ Day, is a holiday celebrating workers and the history of labor organizing.
In the 1880s, workers were fighting for an 8-hour day in United States. They called for a general strike in 1886. In Chicago, at Haymarket Square, that demand was met with brutal repression: violence, arrests, and executions. Instead of silencing the movement, it lit a spark.
That spark grew into a global tradition of resistance and solidarity that workers around the world still carry forward every May 1.
what is may day strong?
We are a network of hundreds of organizations and hundreds of thousands of working people coming together with a common purpose: standing together against the billionaires waging a war on working people.
On May Day and Labor Day 2025, we helped anchor more than a thousand events across the country ensuring our voice and demands were heard:
Fighting for public schools over private profits
Healthcare over hedge funds
Shared prosperity over free market politics
We make this country run, and we know how to take care of each other. Together we will ensure access to opportunity and a better life for all.
