On Friday May 1st, NYC is calling for no work, school, or shopping to protest for workers' rights, higher wages and against corporate influence and high housing costs. Thousands are expected to come out in protest, uniting their voices in a call for fair living and working conditions.

Join us before the protests for a community potluck picnic at Travers Park from 1-2:30pm. This will be a chance to get to know your neighbors and enjoy being outside together for a relaxed and low-key event before the protests. Bring some food or drink to share with others and a blanket to sit on.

We will travel together later in the day, to the Manhattan May Day protest. More details to follow.
